Thanks to our friends at the US government's Humanitarian Aid Denton Transportation Program, FLF has successfully sent much needed items to La Ladrillera.
The Denton program transports humanitarian cargo on a space available basis on military cargo aircraft to countries where ongoing humanitarian crises occur. FLF joined forces with Denton in 2014 and shipped 10,000 lbs of cargo including mattresses, medical supplies and equipment, clothing, shoes, toys and household goods. Again in January of 2016, Denton graciously flew another 10,000 lbs of cargo that included school desks for a middle school in deperate need of furniture for students and teachers.
A team effort was involved in procuring this cargo and FLF remains eternally grateful to the following organizations for helping these missions happen:
For the generous support of RESTORE GLOBAL, a Charlotte based non-profit whose mission is to connect those is need with those in excess. The school furniture we shipped came from University of Connecticutt dorm rooms that were being renovated! Thank you Steve Wray and Rod Tapp for all you do at Restore Global. Visit their website at restoreglobal.org for more information on their innovative programs.
For the generous donations of medical supplies and warehouse space offered by Evangel Worship Center in Concord, NC. Visit them at Evangelworshipcenter.org for more information.
For the support of all the servicemen at Denton and USAID in Guatemala. ( If your non-profit needs cargo moved to needy people in the world, Denton is a wonderful organization. Visit their website from more information. https://hatransportation.ohasis.org Application process is a bit lengthy, but well worth the effort!)
For the generosity of Balfour Beatty and Spectrum Properties and all our friends and family in Charlotte who have donated to our collection drives. We couldn't do it without you!
